This issue features the welcome (and let's face it inevitable) return of Hippolyta.

War breaks out on Paradise Island as the forces of the First Born attack the city, lead by Cassandra and the Minotaur. Aleka endeavors to fulfil her mission of protecting Zola from the rampaging hordes. Meanwhile in Olympus the First Born tells a captured and bound Diana he wants her as his bride and not surprisingly she refuses. He proceeds to impale her with his horned fist and leaves her to bleed to death as she watches below her friends fall one by one in battle. Just as all seems lost and the valiant group finds themselves surrounded by First Born's forces who prepare to make the final assault to wipe them all out, Zeke's eyes flash momentarily and Hippolyta, still a stone statue, suddenly comes to life and vows to her Amazon sisters that they will fight to the last breathe together and die like Amazons...
