Once again J.G. Jones provides a beautiful cover with Diana wearing her now
trademark red blindfold. Issues 216 and 217
were scheduled to both ship in July in order for the "Bronze Doors"
storyline to be resolved in time. This was to ensure that issue 219
would be "in sync" with the "Sacrifice" storyline that was
to run across all three Superman Titles and conclude in "Wonder Woman"
in September.
Diana, Cassie and Ferdinand have to contend with various foes as they are split
up in the nightmare world of Tartarus. Wonder Woman has a rematch with a reanimated
and headless Medousa, while Cassie and Ferdinand have to deal with Gorgons of
their own. Ares comes to their aid and leads them to the Bronze Doors but on
opening them, the three heroes find Poseidon, Zeus, Hades and his army of the
dead waiting for them! Has Ares lead Diana into a trap?
