Unfortunately, while Wonder Woman's fanbase is probably one of the most loyal
in the comics industry, the impact of her death barely merited a mention in
the wider community, unlike the furore that occured when Superman died when
even the National Press were running stories about it. Of course, it could be
argued that Superman's death had been the result of a heroric and titanic fight
against the all powerful Doomsday, whereas Wonder Woman's last moments were
a one panel "zapping" by Neron. Hardly the sort of valiant, honourable
death fitting a noble warrior such as Diana.
Jose Garcia provides a particularly poignant cover however.
| Plot Summary: |
This issue sees the key members of the Justice League visiting the lifeless
Diana in her hospital bed. It appears the Amazon Princess has had her very soul
blasted from her by Neron and an attempt to revive her by her colleagues fails.
