This story uses almsot exactly the same set up used by Joey Cavalieri in issue
65. This almost seemed like Bryne's response to those fans complaining about
why Cassie was even necessary, when the charcter of Vanessa already existed.
This issue came across as his token acknowledgement that the character still
even existed. Indeed, Vanessa would not really make a return into Diana's life
until the Phil Jiminez run, when after increasingly resenting Diana's seeming
indifference to her and becoming ever more jealous of Cassie, the young girl
was lured into becoming the new Silver Swan. Her hate agenda against Wonder
Woman would be put to good use.
A standalone story which sees Dr. Psycho tormenting Vanessa Kapatelis in her
dreams.
