Wonder Woman finds herself in the afterlife world of Valhalla, fighting other warriors. When “killed”, she finds she and the others are brought back to life to fight again each day. She befriends a fellow warrior named Siegfried and they become close.
But before Diana awakens each time she begins to hear a stranger talking to her as if in a vision, telling her that she cannot stay in Valhalla.
One days as she is out exploring this new world she finds herself in, discovering that she no longer has her powers of flight as well as losing her invulnerability, she is confronted by a talking rodent named Ratatosk. He tells her he needs her help and leads her to a huge tree named Yggdrasil, the queen of the Parliament of Trees. He tells Diana that the queen is sick and with her death will fall Ragnarok.
He adds that when he had heard of Diana’s arrival he had found hope that she could help save the queen. The Amazon Princess agrees but hearing the war cry horn, says that she must return and join the others for today’s battle.
But when she resurrects as usual the following days after being impaled, Siegfried is nowhere to be found.
She decides to go out looking for him and meet sup with Ratatosk again, who says that some of the warriors are disappearing, never to return. Sure enough, when Diana eventually finds Siegfried, he disappears before her eyes into a green mist.
On her birthday, young Diana believes she is ready for more responsibilities.
