Synopsis

Wonder Woman and Giganta take stock to try and figure out what the significance of the sword that the previous Titan had mentioned and where it might be. Diana flies up high into the sky to clear her thoughts and notices that the Titans attacks have formed a circle. She tells Giganta that the answer will lie at its centre.

As they make their way Giganta wonders why the Amazon Princess never uses he full extent of her powers and accuses her of being afraid of them. She adds that Diana has been marooned in a world of lesser beings for so long she uses up most of her energies trying not to hurt people. Its fake morality.

Wonder Woman disagrees but Giganta asks “Why are you so unhappy then?”. Frustrated, Diana refocuses their attentions to the plan where Giganta will draw the stone creatures away while she searches for the sword. Over the next hour or so they work together reluctantly to smash their way through each creature they encounter.

But suddenly Giganta finds herself surrounded and outnumbered by dozens of creatures who emerge from the ground around her. Wonder Woman races up into the sky and then rockets back down at super speed, tearing through the entire army of Titans and shattering them.

Giganta remarks that she could have done that all along and didn’t need Giganta’s help and Wonder Woman replies only after she realized these were not sentient beings. But Giganta continues her argument that Wonder Woman is afraid of her power and constantly holds back. She is only a hero because she panders to people who are weaker than her.

Having dealt with the army they pause for breath but another huge Titan emerges and Wonder Woman tells Giganta to stay back as it smashes its foot down onto the Amazon Princess.

As Giganta stares horrified that she may have just witnessed Wonder Woman being killed, Maggie arrives holding the sword aloft together with the mystical creatures. She commands the Titan to stand down and that she is in charge now. It steps back and a slightly groggy Wonder Woman emerges.

Aphrodite also appears from nowhere, explaining that her powers would have been useless against stone creatures but that she had been keeping a watchful eye over Diana’s friends. And they have found something interesting.

Maggie hands Wonder Woman the sword she had found in the lake and Diana recognises it as belonging to Antiope. Maggie says it is hers now but Wonder Woman hands it back and says that there was a reason she had been the one to find it and she should carry it as an ally.

The sword is the first real proof that the Amazons may still exist and Antiope would never let it out of her sight, so she must be near. As Giganta returns to Cadmus having fulfilled her end of the bargain, she leaves Wonder Woman and the others to continue the search.
