Synopsis

In her basement, Veronica Cale tells the bound Nemesis that her research has indicated that the reason she and all the other gods have fallen to Earth is because a massive electromagnetic inversion has caused Olympus and Themyscira to collapse. She is enraged that her daughter has perished along with the Amazons, even though Wonder Woman had assured her that Lyta would be safe.

She now commands Nemesis, the God of Grudges, to carry her wishes with regards to her getting her vengeance on the Amazon Princess.

Meanwhile Diana and Steve are spending some quality time together when they are interrupted by Aphrodite, who is currently staying with them at the beach house, and which Steve find unnerving having the Goddess of Love around!

Suddenly Cadmus shows up and tells Diana that a huge crater has appeared in the city after what looked like a star falling to Earth.

She rides on the winged horse to the site of the disaster and the authorities tell her it is still too hot for them to enter inside the hole. She walks calmly down into the pit however and is confronted by Nemesis.

Meanwhile, a smiling Veronica Cale and a young reporter she has hired is watching events from her office balcony.

In the crater Wonder Woman is attacked and she defends herself before ensnaring the Goddess in her lasso and demanding to know what she wants. Nemesis tells her she is carrying out the grudge of another and Diana deduces it is Cale. The Amazon Princess tells her that she does not have to do the bidding of her arch foe but Nemesis is offended at the implication that a mere mortal has sway over her and lunges to attack.

As Wonder Woman defends herself again they are interrupted by the flash of a camera and the reporter and Cale arrive on the scene. She tells the watching crowd that Wonder Woman had attacked one of her employees unprovoked. She continues how these superheroes seem to always think they are above the law.

The police ask Wonder Woman to leave before things get any more complicated and she reluctantly steps out of the crater leaving Nemesis to walk away. She confronts Cale who tells her that the Amazon seems to have the biggest savior complex on the planet.

Wonder Woman demands to know who she is controlling Nemesis but Cale replies that it is proprietary technology. She then adds that she knows something else Diana doesn’t. She then reveals that Olympus and Themyscira have been wiped out due to cosmic paradox. She had promised she would keep Lyta safe.. But she was gone along with Diana’s mother and Amazon sisters.

Wonder Woman is now a lone refugee of the Amazon nation.
