Just then Steve arrives, accompanied by Aphrodite, and they embrace lovingly. He reveals to Diana that he has been helped by the Goddess of Love and a stunned Wonder Woman kneels in fealty. She asks if the Goddess can tell her what has happened on Themyscira to enable Ares to escape his prison and whether her mother is OK? But Aphrodite replies that she is as clueless about hat has happened as Diana, and that she was imply minding her own business on Olympus when she had found herself suddenly transported here.
Just then an aide rushes in saying that the insurgents have agreed peace talks at a certain location across the city. Wonder Woman and Steve agree to help him get there safely. As they venture through the war torn streets the Amazon Princess, with a little help from Aphrodite, protects them from the barrage of shells. As the shelling intensifies they hear the rumble of jets and realise Etta has summoned some covering fire for them.
They finally make it to the rendezvous point but Wonder Woman is horrified to see Ares standing there, who accuses them of siding with the charlatan of a prime minister and opposing the righteous insurgents. And now they all must pay!
