Synopsis

The league call upon the help of Mr. Mxyzptlk but initially he attacks them, turning Metropolis buildings into creatures which the league have to contain. But eventually they persuade him to listen and assure him they are not trying to take him down but instead need his help.

He replies that he knows the situation and that the effects of the Source Wall crumbling is impacting his kind too in the fifth dimension. He then says that the answer can be found in the Sixth Dimension but that only Superman is capable of travelling there.

The Man of Steel agrees, to the reluctance of the others, and steps through the portal.

Meanwhile at the Legion of Doom’s base, Brainiac sense what is happening and tells Luthor that the heroes are up to something. But a clam Luthor simply replies that the era of the heroes is at an end…

Back in Metropolis, a few seconds after having disappeared and very different looking Superman reemerges to the surprise of the league. He tells them that he has spent the last decade searching for the road that will lead them to victory and he has at last been successful.

He invites them to step through and they find themselves at a futuristic Hall of Justice and alternate versions of themselves standing there, smiling back at them. Superman explains that in this reality they had won and he is happy to reveal how it was done.

However, elsewhere, in a dark, dead world the real Superman has been trapped, alone and starving with no sunlight to power him. It was a trap all along!
