Synopsis

A Hawkgirl battles Lex, preventing him from reaching the centre of the Totality, the other league members fight their respective battles to keep Umbrax at bay. Meanwhile Flash has to concentrate to slow himself down to a stop to connect with the Still force as Aquaman and Wonder Woman protect him.

Flash succeeds and defeats Umbrax, leaving the Legion of Doom to teleport away to lick their wounds.

The League assess recent events and Martian Manhunter wonders whether perhaps the Totality, which is now safely in their possession, is showing them that in fact the universe was always meant to be evil and that is the natural order of things. Which means that it is in fact the League that are the villains, trying to prevent evil so that good triumphs. But Batman, recovering from his wounds, says that they will always be about Justice.

Suddenly Starman materialises in front of them, bloodied and bruised, and warning them that he has come from the past. He tells the shocked league members that he has all the answers they seek but to reveal them, three of them must die!

Back in the Legion’s HQ Luthor is pondering his recent defeat. He had thought the Totality would aid him somehow but he now realises that it wants something ore from him. His true purpose is to unlock things far more profound and dangerous.

He says “You were right. I need your help.” and we see that he is talking to The Batman Who Laughs.
