A possessed Green Lantern takes on and seems to be defeating the league members before Cyborg suddenly arrives and takes him down. Meanwhile inside the Totality Martian Manhunter and Superman are battling their way past incredible creatures inside The Totality. They surmise these creatures are mutations of Vultures and Lizards whose minds it has reached into and is devolving them. Manhunter tells Superman he believes The Totality has the ability to draw out basic survival instincts in order to protect itself. And they can both feel it trying to do the same to them too.

Superman asks how Batman and Hawkgirl are faring inside their brains, trying to fight off the Mutagen clusters at the molecular level. The miniaturised heroes manage to blast through the first attack and continue deeper into the brains of their colleagues while unseen behind, Lex Luthor tails Batman’s craft.

Back at the Hall of Justice Green Lantern recovers and now free of the influence of the Invisible Spectrum, explains to his colleagues how this force controls a person and when Flash asks why they have never heard of this particular Lantern spectrum before, John then recounts how Sinestro had been hunting for it. The spectrum ‘s heart is a living phantom galaxy powered by a sentient black sun called Umbrax.

This Umbrax moves unseen through the cosmos, drawn to planets where self-destructive forces are strongest, usually inhabited by primitive civilisations. It surrounds these worlds and then pulls them into its universe. The braking of the Source Wall has opened the door for Umbrax but John explains that Sinestro had also revealed that the Invisible Spectrum was also tied to six other hidden forces of the universe. All of them were locked by some cosmic stasis that had to be accessed first – the Still Force.

Cyborg realises Sinestro must be feeding Umbrax and if he feeds it enough he could bring it to Earth. The league decide they need to take action and while Green Lantern and Cyborg go to locate Umbrax, the Flash locates the source of the Still Force which is at a highly toxic area of the ocean. So Wonder Woman leads the rest of them to the location.

Back inside the Totality Martian Manhunter and Superman finally break through to an inner sanctum where they see something very similar to the Source Wall. Superman warns Manhunter to take things slowly as they do not know what they are facing but the Martian reassures Kal that The Totality is trying to reveal something good to them and attempts to make contact, only to awaken the giants who attack them both.

Under the ocean at the location Flash identified the heroes find the Legion’s base and entering, find that the interior designs are almost Amazonian and the Technology Atlantean. They see chambers with what look like primitive White Martians who suddenly burst free and attack them.

At the same moment inside Superman’s body Lex radios to Joker to make his move and the villain emerges from his hiding place on board Hawkgirl’s craft.

Up on the ruins of the JLA satellite Green Lantern and Cyborg are trying to use the equipment to trace the whereabouts of Umbrax but suddenly Sinestro arrives and tells them that Umbrax is already here and that the Earth has already joined its ranks!
