Just as it seems Superman, Flash and Mera will finally be overwhelmed by Black Manta’s forces they are rescued by the arrival of Aquaman and Wonder Woman. Arthur brings Mera up to speed on their recent encounter with Poseidon and tells her that instead of using the Trident given to him by the Sea God to kill the Triumvirate of Sea Gods, he believes that he should give it to them in peace as Arion was supposed to have done eons ago.
She is doubtful that this is the right course of action but nevertheless the heroes head towards Atlantis to fulfill the destiny and launch Atlantis.
Triumvirate of Sea Gods and Black Manta are waiting for them however and as the league do their best to hold the forces lined up against them back, Wonder Woman dives down into the Ocean to use the Amazonian Technology built into it to activate Atlantis.
But it is a trap and Cheetah is waiting for her. They fight but Diana is weakened by her foe’s enhanced claws and just as all seems lost Batman teleports in and saves her. He tells her that the Legion of Doom have destroyed the Hall of Justice and taken the Totality, but he has managed to save Starman.
Wonder Woman then activates Atalants and as it rises out of the sea Triumvirate of Sea Gods send the Death Kraken to finish the heroes.
Arthur persuades Mera that using the Trident to make peace with their enemies is the right course and she uses her powers to send a message of friendship. Triumvirate of Sea Gods cease their attack but an enraged Black Manta turns his fury on them and kills Captain Gall, Commander Drogue and wounds Fleet Admiral Tyyde.
Arthur and Black Manta fight and Aquaman defeats his foe before making the ultimate sacrifice to save the Earth and slay the Death Kraken.
A few days later as the flood waters recede and the population return to normal the League mourns the loss of Aquaman but Wonder Woman is convinced he has survived.
