Synopsis

As Steve waits patiently by a fire he has built he suddenly sees Veronica emerge from Ares prison. He asks her what has happened and where Diana is but Cale is no mood to talk. Just then Wonder Woman also emerges and the she and Steve embrace tenderly. She explains what has happened and how Isabel, Cale’s daughter, will have to live out her life with the Amazons as she can never return home without splintering again.

A distraught Cale flies off in her helicopter leaving the two of them to ponder where Cheetah has disappeared to. Wonder Woman hopes her friend will be alright and Steve replies that the doctor can take care of herself before they then depart together.

Cheetah emerges from her hiding place and tries to enter Ares prison but is forced back. Furious, she vows her revenge on Amazons and Gods alike for denying her.

Back in Etta’s townhouse in Washington DC Wonder Woman and Steve bring her her up to speed on recent events. In turn, Etta explains how Sasha Bordeaux is making a good recovery as she details what exactly Cale and Doctor Cyber had done to her.

As Etta adds that Ferdinand has also now departed, saying Diana knew where to find him if her ever needed him again, she notices the golden lasso is missing. When Wonder Woman replies that she had to leave it behind Etta replies quite coldly that the lasso is not the only thing she had left behind.

A hurt Diana tries to explain that they had looked for Cheetah everywhere Etta is not convinced they tried hard enough. As Steve defends the Amazon Princess, reminding Etta that Barbara had made her choice when she had gone to Cale, Diana gets up and announces that she will not let her friend down again..

Meanwhile across town at Cale’s residence the scientist is being debriefed by Doctor Cyber, who explains that the authorities have raided their labs and confiscated their equipment. Cyber adds that they also know that Maru and her team were responsible for murdering everyone at Etta’s facility and Cale tells her friend to make sure there are no traces back to her.

Still grieving for Isabel, Cale dismisses Cyber and sits alone pondering how everything she had done these past ten years to get her daughter back had all been for nothing.

Juts then she hears a voice in her room and sees Cheetah is crouching in the shadows. Cale tells her that she cannot transform her back to her normal self as her labs have been compromised. But Cheetah replies that she is not here for that and that she has accepted who she is meant to be. Just as Cale now needs to accept who she really is….a villain!

Cheetah then attacks Cale and throws her through the window onto the lawn, intent on savaging her to death. But Wonder Woman arrives and kicks Cheetah away. She tries to reason with Barbara, reminding her that Cale is the one person who can still restore her but a snarling Cheetah attacks again, saying that Diana has got it all wrong and that she has no wish to be restored.

Wonder Woman assumes she is the target and prepares herself but Cheetah dodges her and viciously slashes Cale’s back causing her to scream in agony.

As she prepares to attack again however Wonder Woman grabs her by the throat and taking several bloody wounds from her slashing claws nevertheless persists to slowly soothe chokes her friend to unconsciousness.

Cale states that Wonder Woman may have saver her life but they will still never be friends. As Diana gets up preparing to take Cheetah, she replies that they could have been and that she knows one things for sure… Cale will always be alone.

With that she flies off with Cheetah leaving the wounded Cale to mull over her words…
