While Molly asks to speak with Batman and to try and convince him that there is a huge threat about to engulf the Earth, Vic and Simon are attending a High School Field trip to the Science Centre.

Suddenly one of the teachers, Mr Cox, takes out a gun and grabs one of the girls. As Vic and Simon reason with him he finally lets her go but as they usher the others to safety are unable to prevent him shooting himself. He crashes backwards into one of the displays causing several meteorite fragments to scatter over the floor.

As his blood trickles up to one of the rocks and touches it Simon’s Lantern Ring suddenly detects a threat and throws a protective shield around them.

As they watch Cox’s body is transformed into the creature Shirak, whom the Green Lantern Corps had thought many years ago and it had taken the entire might of the Corps to take him down. During his final moments he had spread his essence across the universe via hundreds of fragments and the Corps had assumed they had managed to collect all the pieces – but one had landed on Earth and ended up in the museum many years later.

A now reinvigorated Shirak transforms people several blocks around the site to become his army and as Victor guides the children to safety Simon, as Green Lantern, confronts the creature well aware of the history. Shirak mocks how it took the entire Corps to stop him before and one Lantern does not stand a chance.

But Green Lantern replies that he has not called for help from the rest of the Corps, but instead his colleagues in the Justice League.

As the League take down his army Shirak is impressed with their powers and snaking out tentacles, he grabs them all and begins to transform them into warriors for his own cause.

But during this time Cyborg has managed to diagnose the technology that had resurrected Shirak and reverse engineered it. Providing the code to Green Lantern, Simon then uses it to destroy Shirak and restore everybody, including Mr Cox.

Meanwhile as Batman leaves the containment facility Molly smiles and tells him that they are all about to find out what their lives are worth…”
