Synopsis
As Epione tends to Steve’s wounds the Amazon council lead by Hippolyta meet to discuss recent events. Areto briefs them on her findings. He concludes that the mean were warriors, all wearing the same red, white and blue emblems and carrying firepower the likes of which the Amazons have never seen. She picks up one of the recovered hand guns and shoots a vase to pieces.
They are all shocked and Philippus declares that these are men of war and had come to invade the island. But Castalia says that for the men to have even managed to reach their shores the Gods must have willed it. These men had come for the Amazons help. As debate continues Hippolyta studies the Eagle emblem and states that its head is bowed – the bearing of one who will meet battle but does not seek it.
Meanwhile Diana watches over Steve who finally comes to. Although they cannot understand each other it is clear that there is a connection growing between them.
Back in the council chambers Castalia reveals that Diana had been bitten at “The Gate” and Hippolyta adds that if that means Ares is once more loose again in the world it is their duty to act. A champion must be chosen to take the surviving male back to Man’s world and face Ares.
The contest takes place – including using bracelets to defend against the gun – but only one Amazon manages to deflect the bullets. With a heavy heart Hippolyta declares that Diana is the winner.
Later, now wearing her Wonder Woman costume reflecting the colours of Steve’s homeland and carrying the golden lasso, Diana is cheered on my her sisters as she and a stunned Steve board an invisible plane and depart from Themyscira.
