Synopsis
As the rain lashes down Steve tries to get through to a now almost zombie like Wonder Woman who is simply kneeling on the ground traumatised. He tries to radio back to the base but gets no reply, unaware that a hit team lead by Colonel Maine Maru has killed everyone in the base.
Maru hears his appeals of immediate extraction and explaining that Wonder Woman is in urgent need of help. The colonel orders the signal to be traced.
Back on the island Steve sees he has a coded message from Etta telling them to run. He quickly surmises that the base has been compromised and that trouble is now on its way to them.
He leads Wonder Woman to shelter and setting a fire, leaves her to dry while he begins to fashion primitive weapons and booby traps around in the forest. Soon they hear the sound of a chopper approaching
On-board Maru and her strike team notify Veronica Cale that they are about to land. Cale instructs them that if the island really is a gateway to Themyscira they will need Wonder Woman to open it. If not, they will need the Amazon Princess to show them where one exists. Either way they must capture her alive and they may never have a better chance seeing as it appears she is wounded.
The team touch down and being to reconnoitre the area. But one by way they are taken down either by Steve or his booby traps. But Maru, who is the last one standing, finally finds where he had hidden Wonder Woman and threatens to shoot her in the head unless Steve surrenders, which he reluctantly does.
As Maru forces them to make their way to the waiting chopper it is shot to pieces by another chopper flown by Steve’s team mates, Chris, Miguel and Dave.
Providing covering fire they enable Steve and Wonder Woman to board the chopper before making their escape form the island.
The next day in London Steve escorts Diana to a psychiatric hospital and charges Chris to look after her while he is gone to find Etta. Whatever mental trauma has affected the Amazon Princess it may be her only hope in order to recover her sanity again…
