Donna Troy’s escape from Mount Olympus causes Wonder Woman to panic and the sudden appearance of Strife does nothing to abate it. Despite being unable to locate her using their typical methods, Diana remembers Milan in New York whom she convinces to look for her using his powers. He can not locate Donna but identifies London and a sign reading “A Twist of Fate”.
Elsewhere, Donna regrets how blindly she followed Derinoe and instead seeks out the Fates whom she asks to cut her thread yet none of the Fates had encountered her thread – her destiny remained unwoven into the fabric of time. As she leaves a force enters the Fates’ shop.
Diana arrives too late to the shop, she discovers the fates on the verge of dying and they leave her with the instructions of seeking out Donna. Walking out onto the street Diana is bumped into by a young girl who attempts to take her lasso, just as it is returned a portal appears from the skies and Nikos Aegeus flies out firing a hail of arrows onto the two. Diana knocks him to the ground but he sneaks in a shot which causes Diana to rage – blood pouring from her eyes. As Aegeus flees again Diana’s knees weaken and she falls.
