This story followed on from events in the ‘Sacrifice’ story line, where Wonder Woman killed Maxwell Lord in cold blood.

Synopsis

Kate gets a surprise visit from Wonder Woman who needs representation. Diana was exonerated by the world court for the execution of Maxwell Lord but President Luthor’s administration is filing suit because Lord was still a federal agent when he was killed. The US government has frozen Themyscira’s assets until Diana’s day in court. Kate agrees to take Diana’s case pro bono but under the condition that Diana trains Kate in close unarmed combat.

Meanwhile, Shaw charters a fishing boat that is heading to the Bering Sea. Once he reaches Asia, Shaw goes a remote area within the Himalayas. Shaw stares a picture that he drew from his visions and asks some of the locals if they have seen these symbols. He asks an elderly woman who was selling yak butter if she has seen the symbols on his drawing. The woman shrieks and starts beating Shaw with her walking stick. She cries out in Tibetan that Shaw is a devil and he brings a curse to their village. Shaw runs down a back alley and stops dead in his tracks because he is surrounded by Knights who serve the Order of St. Dumas.
