Byrne next attempts to resolve the admittedly convoluted history of Donna Troy’s character. Donna had held many guises in the DC Universe; as “Wonder Girl” (the younger version of Diana during the Golden Age), as well as “Wonder Girl” (a separate character in her own right), subsequently known as “Troia”. Once again though, the focus of the book is on someone other than Diana!
Only Hippolyta, having spent years in the distant past and now returned to the present, remembers that Donna Troy ever existed. Now she begins her journey to discover what happened to Donna…and learn how her own adventures through time might be responsible for the one-time Wonder Girls disappearance from history.
As Wonder Woman investigates further we learn of Donna Troy’s back story as Hippolyta and her friends finally confront Dark Angel.
