Synopsis

Diana is being shot at by and arrow but Artemis jumps in from of it and grabs it, saving Wonder Woman’s life. Mala says the arrow came from the wooded area but none of the women see anything.

Meanwhile in Boston, Julianna Sazia is surrounded by mob members threatening to kill her but she gives them an ultimatum and asks if they want to join her team – the majority of the men jump at the idea of having a female boss after seeing her bio-mechanical construct, which she stole from S.T.A.R Lab.

Back on Themyscira the competitors have now been whittled down to just four. Both Diana and Artemis are still in the competition. Artemis is shocked that everyone is cheering for theothers since they have “been humiliated” by losing, but the Princess explains that they are a sisterhood and they were only competing for fun. Later that evening Artemis is in the woods yelling at Patrice about shooting the arrow at Wonder Woman.

In the palace Philippus and Hippolyta are discussing the final part of the competition that takes place the next day. Hippolyta wants to use areas of the island that have mystical energies so the finalists have to deal with more than just the elements. Philippus considers this to be a poor idea on Hippolyta’s part, but since she is queen Philippus decides to hold her tongue.

In the morning the competition restarts with a multi stage race. Firstly the finalists must swim to a marker before turning around to shore. But as they begin the turn a whirlpool opens up sucking them under. Diana sees that Mala is sinking and might not make it but she is out of breath herself and unable to save her, Artemis intervenes. As Diana struggles under the water she has another one of her flashbacks causing her to black out and sink further.

While in the flashback as Antiope, she becomes aware of how her mother told Herakles that he could become king if he promised not to be violent. When Antiope is being choked by Herakles, Hippolyta hits him with a vase causing him to be knocked unconscious. Antiope then uses the mask to take the form of Herakles and tells all of his men to leave the island. After this incident Antiope leaves Themyscira because of her sister’s betrayal.

Once Diana wakes from the flashback she finds herself on shore – thanks to Artemis. They then continue the race. Next they encounter Harpies during the next stage but Diana easily handles them. However the delay means she has slipped to third place and does not know how she can catch up to Artemis and Venelia. As she gets closer though she sees that Venelia has been turned into stone….which can only be the work of Medusa. Diana knows that she must keep her eyes closed while fighting the monster to avoid being turned into stone herself. Vanquishing Medusa, Diana knows her only competition now is Artemis up ahead.

On the final leg of the race it comes down to a straight forward sprint towards the finish line, But just a few yards from the line Diana trips and loses the race…the competition..and her title as Wonder Woman..

Artemis is now the new Wonder Woman.
