Synopsis

In the Amazon jungle the Female Furies report back to Darkseid, empty handed and having lost two of their members to Steve and the Oddfellows who have taken them prisoner. He is furious and almost lashes out and kills them on the spot for their incompetence but relents when he realises that he does not have enough other allies yet and he still needs them.

He turns to a minion and asks whether they already have enough relics already integrated with the temple’s energy matrix to achieve their aims but is told that no, they will need every single piece. He kills the minion with his Omega beams and then appoints a replacement, warning him to work harder and faster. The minion nods and says that Darkseid will soon have what he want and be able to rule Earth. But Darkseid says he is mistaken as he doe snot care about earth – not now he knows that Themyscira is no longer located here…

Meanwhile back in Washington DC Wonder Woman meets Steve at the aerodrome after his return from the recent mission against the Furies. He can see she is troubled and asks if she wants to talk about recent events, with her half brother and sisters being murdered by Darkseid and when finally meeting her father, Zeus, only for him to be also be killed by Darkseid. But she does not want to talk about these things so he changes tact and asks about her day.

She tells him about her encounters with three different new female villains in Washington DC. The first called Zara was able to fire a fierce Crimson flame but Wonder Woman took her down quickly and easily with force. The villainess did not seem to have any particular target in mind however.

A short while later Wonder Woman had then taken on the Blue Snowman, a creature constructed of various stolen technologies and was piloted by Byrna Bryliant. The Amazon Princess had destroyed the machine and frazzled the occupant’s brain so the authorities are still unable to question her motives, but again it seemed almost random.

Steve then asks her about Jason, who she is worried about. She does not know why he has disappeared and fears he may have gone after Darkseid and Grail on his won – and that they may be able to turn him against her again. She had tried to locate the temple in the Amazon forest where she knows Darkseid is hiding out but even with her amazing powers she was unable to find it in the huge denseness of the rain forest.

Wonder Woman then carries on to tell him about the third villainess she had encountered today who went by the name of  Angelette, and who was seemingly trying to take the place of a former nemesis of Diana’s Angleman. Wonder woman dealt with her too.

He asks her whether she had any idea what the connection was between these attacks and she replies that while she is no Caped Crusader she has been around him long enough to have learned a little about investigation techniques. She had flown to Veronica Cale’s offices and confronted her. The Amazon Princess tells her that while she can hide behind a million alibis and lawyers as much as she wants, they both know she is responsible for today’s attacks. By attacking the Capital it justifies all those defence contracts that Cale has. But as it is clearly all about money, what Diana does not understand is why Cale even needs more money when she is already wealthy enough as it is.

Cale icily replies that it is because of Diana, who is like a scab she cannot stop picking at. She adds that perhaps she is trying to disprove the “wonder” in Wonder Woman. She enjoys the challenge of trying to thwart Diana.

Wonder Woman tells her that she has not heard the last of this and Cale is undeterred, adding that is she ever finds her way back to Themyscira to say hi to her daughter that the Amazons had stolen from her.

Steve then recounts his past few days, how he and the Oddfellows had taken on the Female Furies now that they know when and where they will strike based on the information Giganta had given hem. They can stop the retrieval of the last few relics that Darkseid needs. They had stopped them taking the latest piece from Turkey and had even managed to capture two of the Furies in the process as well.

In addition they had been taking on pockets of Parademons around the world – who seem to be waiting for some kind of direction or orders from Darkseid.

Suddenly as they are walking they hear a voice call Diana from above and looking up they see Jason hovering there wearing some kind of a new costume..
