In what came across as seemingly a final love letter to the classic incarnations of Wonder Woman, before the New 52 unleashed a very different version of Diana on an unsuspecting world, DC released a series of three one-shots under the banner “DC Retroactive”. Each issue featured Wonder Woman in an original story by some of the legendary writers and artists who had helped mould the character during the 70’s, 80’s and 900’s. The issues also reprinted a classic tale from that same era.

In this issue the back up reprint story came from Wonder Woman #201.

Synopsis

Wonder Woman goes to Paradise Island to find it sinking underwater. She swims under to investigate and finds a strange vessel. She enters the vessel and is accused of having sinned gravely by a strange cube. She is told she must perform three tasks to redeem herself and to restore the island. However, she will not perform them as Wonder Woman, but as she was when she committed the sin – as Diana Prince!
