Legends of the DC Universe was an ongoing series that featured a particular character in a standalone story from their regular title.

Synopsis

Julia Kapatelis has found herself in a ‘situation’: the Redblacks street gang, armed with hi-tech weaponry, have holed themselves up in a bank which she was visiting in order to hide from the police after an aborted rumble with the Weasels.

Outside, Inspector Ed Indelicato and Officer Sally Marsden are hoping for some sort of divine assistance, which arrives in the form of Wonder Woman, who attempts to make the gang members (who are all women) see reason. She is shocked when the only response she gets is violence. However, she is more than durable enough to go into the situation and disable the gang members’ fighting suits.

However, Officer Marsden, recently released from hospital, charges in with guns blazing, and Diana has to defend the hostages, many of whom would otherwise have been caught in the crossfire.

Far away, Ares, the god of war, watches the situation, which it seems he has engineered, and laughs with amusement.
