Justice League Giant was one of four Walmart-exclusive DC series that debuted in 2018. The series featured one original Wonder Woman story per issue, with the rest of the issue consisting of reprinted stories. The series was replaced in 2019 by Wonder Woman Giant and the original story standalone story “Come Back To Me” continued in that series.
The Wonder Woman feature story was subsequently re-printed in a standalone mini-series.
Synopsis for "Come Back To Me - Part Five"
Wonder Woman rushes to find Steve in time before the giant insects attack him and tries to track him by feeling his presence. Nate asks Steve about their plan of tomorrow, Steven states he was distracted, not knowing that it was because of Diana calling out to him. He suggests finding a shelter they can use for the long term. As Kate asks if Wonder Woman might them, he states it’s unlikely given how they randomly landed on the strange island which isn’t to be found on any map. As Nate suggests getting some sleep, he suddenly gets pierced by the stinger of a giant insect.
Kate and Stee try fighting the insects but are unable to find any way to take them down. They’re however saved by Wonder Woman who helps them in killing the insects. Diana however gets grabbed by one of them and falls high from the sky after freeing herself, not remembering she can’t fly anymore. As she falls to the ground. As she recovers, she realizes she has been surrounded by dinosaurs. Meanwhile, Jonah helps Etta and Sibella in finding Diana. As Etta asks if she remembers anything now, Sibella responds in the negative. As he hears the noises of a fight, Jonah tells the two to hang back and comes upon Wonder Woman being attacked by a group of dinosaurs.
Jonah helps Diana in eliminating all the dinosaurs and finds that her ankle has been broken. She informs Etta of having found Steve and his crew, but Nate died in the attack by the giant insects. Steve and Kate however soon find them and he assures that they’ll escape soon after learning about her ankle. As Diana informs him about the loss of her powers, Cheetah is watching the conversation play out silently from a tree and states she’ll enjoy what happens next.
Synopsis for "The Villain's Journey: Prologue"
In Baltimore, Maryland, a multitude of horrible purple monsters attack the crowd screaming “Go away!”. Colonel Steve Trevor and his soldiers attempt to stop the flux of creatures by shooting them. Suddenly, the Justice League emerge from a Boom Tube to calm down the people. The Justice League kill most of the monsters and then discuss about their main target. His name is Samuel Street and he was infected by the “Spore” virus while delivering it to the A.R.G.U.S.. An unknown intruder attacked the professor when he had entered the Black Room to steal the Orb of Ra. The result is the professor became infected with the spore virus. After a short discussion, the group finds the house where Spore is hidden with is ex-wife he doesn’t want to leave. As a team, they defeat the monster with no problems.
An hour later, colonel Steve Trevor holds a conference about what had happened. The journalists show their enthusiasm for the Justice League asking why superheroes don’t take control of all the institutions. Trevor gets angry as he feels useless, getting to assault a very insisting one. After this, he’s obliged to take part in the Congress reunion. The Congress want to know more about the team, but he doesn’t reveal anything stating that they have no more secrets than the Congress, so it’s good for them not to reveal anything.
Later, Trevor does a video-call with the Justice League as he wants to speak to his beloved Wonder Woman. The other members of the team keep on interrupt them complaining about their problems. Trevor, upset, closes the call. Etta asks why he didn’t tell her that he loved her, to which he responds that in a way he already did.
Somewhere else David Graves writes that he was wrong about superheroes, they must die and the key to kill them is Steve Trevor himself.
