This series didn’t take itself too seriously and was set in an alternate future where the Justice League are brought back to life – though with very different personalities from what they had before. This series continued the story from a previous series called Justice League 3000.
Synopsis
Having taken Tina Sung (who had been masquerading as Batman) to Sheriff Tariq, Bruce and Kara are shocked to discover that she is a natural-born citizen of the prison planet and chose to remain there to fight crime. Bruce, recognising her as an orphan and a descendant of his decides to bring her back to the League and show her a life outside of imprisonment.
From a nearby rooftop Harriet Shankar, dressed as Harley Quinn, watches with dismay as her best friend apparently traded in their life of play-fighting and friendship for crime-fighting with the Justice League. As she watches two androids, named Scullion One and Two, plan to launch their attack upon “the Bat” and as she steps into intervene they snap her neck and cast her aside as they begin their assault.
Teleporting in, the Scullions immediately go for Batman and knock Kara out of the way. During the chaos Bruce signals for backup and Tina runs to her suit. Bruce quickly discovers the androids’ regenerative abilities but that does not stop Kara from trying to destroy them. Across planets the Scullions send reinforcements against Kara’s onslaught just as the other heroes arrive.
Superman is typically relaxed about the situation and this hubris is his downfall as his head is blown up and the battle begins for real.
