This series didn’t take itself too seriously and was set in an alternate future where the Justice League are brought back to life – though with very different personalities from what they had before. This series continued the story from a previous series called Justice League 3000.

Synopsis

A disembodied voice opens by describing the saving of Camelot Nine by the Justice League from the armies of Etrigan and his demon army. However, the voice, actually a reprogrammed L-Ron, is cut short by Lois Lane inside Ariel Masters’body who announces that she has been planning the League’s downfall. Especially Superman’s citing a reason that’ll fry L-Ron’s circuits!

Upon the planet Woden Twelve the League – consisting of Batman, a female Guy Gardner, Superman, The Flash, and Wonder Woman – investigate the enslavement of the planet by Starro. They uncover a mass grave of corpses who attempted to interfere with Starro’s legal invasion of the planet. The enslavement of the planet is revealed to be entirely legal leading Guy to fly off and disprove them.

Back on land Superman irks Teri, whom he is dating, by commenting upon the newly created Guy’s “buns” and Diana is threatened when attempting to bury the would-be rescuers as the Starro consciousness would use their bodies for fuel and food! Batman, meanwhile, struggles to see Guy as female no doubt due to an innate and long-term hatred for him.

Guy arrives on Moonshadow Six where the documents are all kept and, after an hour of waiting, forces her way inside to make someone renege Starro’s totally legitimate claim over the planet. Ariel (actually Lois) is later contacted by an emissary of Moonshadow Six reporting Guy’s illegal forgery of the papers which pleases Ariel who believes it will cause the Justice League’s downfall. She also contacts Sinestro who irks her with his fraternising.

Upon Camelot Nine Fire attempts to get Ice to leave her ice castle whilst Ice tries to get Fire to stop identifying as Etrigan’s demon slave. Exasperated, Ice agrees to join up with Booster Gold and Blue Beetle and to reform the Super Buddies, and drags Fire through the transversal teleporter to Takron-Galtos where Fire reveals her ploy to get Ice to leave.

Batman is still struggling with Guy’s gender change as she returns from Moonshaow Six with the appropriate paperwork. Unbeknown to them Supergirl is inside a stasis pod and returning to the planet from space.
