Synopsis

In the Watchtower, Green Lantern has recovered enough from the poisoned darts to move around, despite his delirious ramblings. However, he discovers that everyone is in Daytona, getting attacked by a giant gestalt raven – like the raven from his dreams. He worries that he is hallucinating, but when the picture persists, he decides it is real.

In Daytona, the two attackers have defeated the Justice League. One of them – Tezumak – is preparing to sacrifice the League to his gods, while the other – Manitou Raven – is a little repulsed by the practice. However, when Batman defeats his sleep spell to save Wonder Woman, all doubt is cast aside and Manitou has no further doubt of the inhumanity of the seven Leaguer members… just before he realises that only six heroes are accounted for. Green Lantern attacks them on a giant cat, knocking Manitou and Tezumak away. It last seconds, but this is all the time the League needs to free themselves. Green Lantern attacks Manitou, trying to find out the meaning of his recurring nightmare, but instead he gets a vision – himself and Manitou, and the words “Just know that you die so the world may live.” This distracts him long enough for Manitou to attack him vomiting up a black gunge over his eyes, mouth and nose.

Tezumak is successfully holding off Batman, Plastic Man and the Flash. Batman susses that Tezumak is simply anticipating them. An ultrasonic trigger from the Aztec makes Batman ask the Flash to sweep thye grounds for bombs. Flash is forced to get all the parks patrons out of the holding areas before they blow up. Superman cannot break through Manitou’s black gunge, but soon receives help when Wonder Woman and Martian Manhunter defeat Manitou Raven.

Batman cannot break through Tezumak’s armor, but is able to exploit the Flash’s initial damage(when they found him under the whale) by launching Plastic Man into the hole, where he gums up the works and blocks the air intact valves.

The fight over, Green Lantern vows to get either answers or revenge from Manitou Raven. However, all they can get from him is the prophecy, now with a reference to the “The Seven-Headed Hydra”. But Manitou does not know why Green lantern has been dreaming about him. He escapes by turning himself and Tezumak into drifts of leaves. Although the League has no idea where they came from, Martian Manhunter guesses they will have to return by the same route: the ocean.

At the seashore, Manitou Raven tries to use “Gamemnae’s Ocean portal” to return to his own time, but it has failed for some reason. Desperate, he gives Tezumak the ability to run across the water, and they make a run for Atlantis. When they discover the Atlantic Trench, he is greatly shocked, but he senses ancient magic in the vicinity, which he uses to send them back just as the Justice League catch up with them. The side-effect is the collapse of the Atlantic Trench, and the reappearance of Atlantis – above water, and in ruins…
