Synopsis
The Qwardians have gained control of a weapon literally capable of destroying worlds – the Void Hound, rumoured to house the mind of a dark god. As they head towards Earth, the Crime Syndicate’s presence on the planet is detected.
The Power Company engage them, but have little effect. The Justice League, with some help from the Titans, at first assume that the laws of logic will prevent the Crime Syndicate from winning on their Earth. Unfortunately, however, their assumptions are wrong and both teams are fought on a stand still. The 36 hour time limit comes and goes during the fight and the JLA are not transported to the Crime Syndicate’s universe. Hurting from the battle and confused as to how it happened, the JLA retreat and regroup, leaving the Crime Syndicate to solidify their position.
Owlman surmises that when their universe was reconstructed after Krona destroyed it the “rules” became skewed. With no 36 hour time limit and no fundamental differences that ensure their defeat, the Crime Syndicate sets out to make this world their new play thing.
Meanwhile, the JLA recover in the Watchtower where they call in reinforcements, both to deal with the Syndicate and to face the oncoming Void Hound, which is detected in the vicinity of Neptune.
