Star Icon Comments:

This story is continued in "Superman" #172 and "JLA: Our Worlds At War "#1 as part of the massive "Our Worlds At War" event. This cross over (a muddled mess in my humble opinion) would have MAJOR ramifications for Diana and the Amazons...

Star Icon Plot Summary:

Diana and her mother have a heart to heart in a restaurant over Hippolyta's insistence in continuing as Wonder Woman now that she is no longer queen. Diana feels her mother is undermining her own position as Wonder Woman while Hippolyta thinks that her daughter is a little jealous and is trying to deny her a meaningful life. Their heated discussion is cut short unresolved as Diana receives a call about an attack on Cassie Sandsmark.

Diana fatefully tells her mother that they will continue their talk when she returns and she leaves on a sour note - something that will come to haunt her in the future.

Vanessa Kapatelis, transformed into the new Silver Swan by a combination of Sebastian Bellesteros' technology and conditioning by Doctor Psycho, attacks Cassie Sandsmark, the new Wonder Girl. She confronts both Cassie and Wonder Woman in a jealous rage and after a brief struggle, in which a new, male version of Cheetah also makes an appearance together with Circe, Diana is left in turmoil, feeling guilty for what has happened to Vanessa. She is then contacted by Martian Manhunter who alerts her to cataclysmic events elsewhere.
